The weBoost eqo cell phone signal booster (pronounced "echo") provides maximum power for the best possible cellular reception in a single room or office. Stay connected with the strongest cell signal, and experience fewer dropped calls, undelivered texts, and missed email messages. Keep your data moving faster in areas with weak cell service and in buildings that block outside cell signal.
Using Wilson Electronics' patented SmarTech III® technology, the eqo receives the outside cell signal, amplifies it, and rebroadcasts it inside the room. This allows you to stay connected in areas where cell service is poor, or where your home's building materials interfere with signals from the local cell tower. (See the "More Information" tab for details.)
The weBoost eqo works with all major wireless carriers in the U.S. and Canada.
The eqo is designed to amplify cellular transmissions inside a single small room or office.
It is Wilson Electronics' strongest one-room booster. The amount of square footage it covers depends on the strength of the signal it receives from the cell tower. In general, the stronger the outside cell signal, the greater the interior broadcast distance.
You can expect the eqo to cover a room the size of an office or workroom (less than 100 square feet).
Please contact us if you have any questions about coverage for this booster.
You can install the weBoost eqo yourself in minutes. It does not require climbing on your roof or pulling cables through walls. (See the "More Information" tab, or click here to view the installation instructions in the user manual.)
This is a complete kit, with everything you need to start getting the best signal in your home.
The eqo phone signal booster system is made up of three major components:
The cell phone signal booster—sometimes called an amplifier—is the core component of the system. In the weBoost eqo, the booster also contains an outside antenna in the same unit.
The booster is bi-directional: It amplifies both the signal your phone receives from the tower and the signal your phone sends to the tower. A weak cell signal is received by the outside antenna and amplified by the booster; the strengthened signal is then rebroadcast by the inside antenna to your phone. The amplifier also boosts the connection back to the cell tower.
A high-quality weBoost booster from Wilson Electronics has very high receiver sensitivity, meaning it can process a weaker cell signal than your phone by itself. There still has to be some cell signal for the booster to amplify, though (it cannot "multiply zero").
You should place your eqo booster in the area of the room with the strongest cell phone signal. Often this will be by a window, but it may also be in another location (the instruction manual includes directions on how to fine where the strongest signal is). Place the booster with the back of the unit (the matte black panel with kickstand) facing the closest/strongest cell tower, and the front of the unit (the glossy black panel, with LED light) facing the room.
The location you choose for the booster needs to have a 110-volt AC wall outlet within 6 feet for the power supply.
Starting April 2017, the eqo also includes an optional outside donor antenna. Instead of using the booster's internal antenna, you can attach the small outside antenna, place it in a windowsill between the window and the screen, and attach it to the booster with a 6-foot cable (included). The outside antenna has a flat leader cable that will run under your closed window.
The inside antenna communicates with cell phones in the room. It is a directional panel antenna that broadcasts its signal forward, away from the antenna, in a cone shape. It can be placed on any flat surface or mounted on a wall.
You'll need to place the inside antenna in a location in the room where it meets all of the following criteria:
If the inside antenna is too close to or pointing toward the booster, the two units may conflict with each other (a condition known as oscillation), which will cause the amplifier to shut itself off.
A 25-foot length of RG58 coax cable connects the booster to the inside antenna. The SMA-male connectors at both ends of the cable easily attach to the SMA-female connectors on the booster and the inside antenna.
