A vehicle cell phone signal booster system is made up of four major components:
The cell phone signal booster—sometimes called an amplifier—is the core component of the system.
The booster is bi-directional: It amplifies both the signal your phone receives from the tower and the signal your phone sends to the tower. A weak cell signal is received by the outside antenna and amplified by the booster; the strengthened signal is then rebroadcasted by the inside antenna to your phone. The amplifier also boosts the connection back to the cell tower.
A high-quality weBoost booster from Wilson Electronics has very high receiver sensitivity, meaning it can process a weaker cell signal than your phone by itself. There still has to be some cell signal for the booster to amplify, though (it cannot "multiply zero").
The most convenient spot to place the cell phone signal booster is under the passenger seat: There usually is more room under the passenger seat than under the driver's seat, and this location is usually closer to the vehicle's power ports, into which you'll plug the booster's power supply.
The outside antenna communicates with your wireless carrier's cell tower. This antenna is omnidirectional, meaning it collects and broadcasts signal in a 360-degree pattern around your car, locating and communicating with the strongest cell tower.
The outside antenna's magnetic base attaches easily and firmly to your vehicle's roof. The metal roof of the car separates the outside and inside antennas, allowing them to perform properly. The outside antenna should be placed away from windows and sun roofs—if it's too close to a glass surface, the outside and inside antennas may conflict with each other (a condition known as oscillation), which will cause the amplifier to shut itself off.
The inside antenna communicates with cell phones in your vehicle. It has an adhesive VELCRO® backing that makes it easy to mount inside your car.
This antenna should be mounted close to the center the vehicle—the dashboard, back of the center console, or the side of the driver or passenger seat are all good areas. It should be mounted in a vertical position, not horizontal or flat. It should not be mounted on metal, on the ceiling, or on the door pillars.
The outside and inside antennas both have coax cables attached to them. These cables connect the antennas to the cell phone signal booster.
Vehicle antennas use thin RG174 coax cable which is attached to the antenna on one end and terminated with an SMA connector on the other end. The cable length is about 10 feet for each antenna.
The cable from the outside magnet mount antenna should be run across the roof to the door closest to where the booster is located. Run it over the door frame and tuck it under interior plastic molding or the rubber weatherstripping in the door jamb. Be sure to keep the cable clear of seat slides and other parts inside the car which could cut the cable.

Warranty InformationweBoost signal boosters and kits are warranted for two (2) years against defects in workmanship and/or materials. Warranty cases may be resolved by returning the product directly to the reseller with a dated proof of purchase. See reseller warranty procedures. Signal boosters and kits may also be returned directly to the manufacturer at the consumer's expense, with a dated proof of purchase and a returned material authorization (RMA) number supplied by weBoost. weBoost shall, at its option, either repair or replace the product. weBoost will pay for delivery of the repaired or replaced product back to the original consumer if located within the continental U.S. This warranty does not apply to any signal boosters or kits determined by weBoost to have been subjected to misuse, abuse, neglect, or mishandling that alters or damages physical or electronic properties. Failure to use a surge-protected AC power strip with at least a 1000 Joule rating will void your warranty. All weBoost products that are packaged with other weBoost accessory products are intended for resale and use as a single unit, and such product kits are required to be sold to the end user or subsequent reseller as packaged. The "de-kitting" and sale as a standalone product of any one or more components of such a product kit is in violation of weBoost's warranty. No "de-kitted" product will be eligible for return for any reason. The sale of separate, not-kitted cable, antennas, and other accessories is allowed and fully warranted.
